Someone decided to go BAREFOOT on the beach, Barefoot Wine, that is...
Below, apparently it's even HARDER to throw this can away in a nearby trash can than to simply drink it town and leave it as litter.....
A constant reminder of brand power...
A 40 oz bottle of MICKEYS® malt liquor?... Glad they didn't GO BIG like this "back in the day"...
And the winner today of the most littered brand of beer goes to...
Glad this person stayed hydrated but not happy that they left it on the beach...
ARROWHEAD® spring water...
Never a day goes by without MODELO® beer being found left in the sand...
Trademarks as litter... not the most pleasant topic and yet it is a reality along our Southern California beaches as it is elsewhere across the nation as our citizens leave their branded trash for the rest of us to encounter...
Nevertheless, these brands spend thousands and even millions of dollars to advertise and promote their brands. The result is that people buy these products and they bring them to the beach and some of them just discard them and leave them as trash. The expense of registering and maintaining these trademark registrations is typically minuscule in comparison to the amount of money spent by these trademark owners on advertising and promotion. Do these owners defend their trademark rights, you betcha!
So the moral of the story is..... Please pick up your trash and throw it away in a trash container.
